All the Hearty Ladies

Photo #89

Put your hands up! Put your hands up! OK, maybe it is a little creepy to take a picture of the sign to the ladies room. Or maybe this is in fact a sign to a store that sells ladies. No, that is probably worse. Forget I said that. We should probably just think of this as a picture of a cool neon sign in the cool Chelsea Market.

Hot Crab

Photo #40
Once again, I found myself in an airport. This time was much different than last week. It was a different airport, the trip was planned well in advance, it was not for work and I had my real camera. With some time to wait and knowing I needed to take 6 good pictures before the day ended, of course I did a little photo-exploring in the airport.

Neon is always fun to shoot, and what says Baltimore more than crabs? This sign was outside a restaurant, and I have to stop writing now because this making me hungry.

Fill the World - Redux

filltheWorldRedux

I don't usually do this, but this is a reinterpretation of a shot that I originally posted to Flickr over a year ago. I liked the original shot so much that I put as March for my 2009 calendar. Looking at it over the last ten days however, has made we to do it a bit differently. First of the, the chair on the bottom was distracting, so I cropped it out. Second, I fixed the sky so it was not so blown out. And finally and most drastically, I flipped the picture around so that the painter would be working from left to right. Somehow that just seemed better to me.

John's Pizzeria

Day 326

Johns Pizzeria

I needed to be in New York for work on Monday morning, so I went up Friday afternoon and took Shelley along for the weekend. She had not been for there for 12 years, and I rarely had time for site seeing on my other trips, so it worked out perfectly. My friend Fraser arranged a dinner for us at John's Pizzeria, since the pizza you fold is on the list of foods tourists must eat when in New York. Good choice by Fraser, since the pizza was excellent and folded very nicely.

Flying Dog

Day 47

flyingDog

Today, on Day 47, I turned 37. We celebrated by visiting the Flying Dog Brewery which gives out all the free beer you can drink during the tour and is only 10 minutes away. It was my turn to drive, but I enjoyed my birthday presents - a new 90mm macro lens and a new camera to go with it.
