Three Wheeler

Photo #97

We all know that the wheels on the bus go round and round, but what do the wheels on the side of the building do? Obviously they want us to turn them, that is what wheels are made for. If not, why would the paint them so red? Do you think I tried to turn them, you know, for science? I won't tell you. Instead, let me encourage you to find out for yourself. When you do, please take pictures.

Red Shift

Photo #36
What does it really mean to be abstract? Does it mean putting your phone up against a lighted glass wall in the airport while people walk by with a questioning look that is becoming all too familiar? Or maybe it is something more than that. Just maybe it seeing beyond what others see, and finding the truth and meaning that lies below the surface of the ordinary.

No, actually, it is probably the first thing.

Where He Needs To Be

Where He Needs To Be After a several month forced sabbatical, I am back to work. It was an interesting time. I did not feel I like I gained 10+ hours a day nor did I become awesome at guitar or even get back into photography. Don't take this to mean I did not enjoy my time off, but I am very glad to gainfully employed again. Though my new job involves neither hammers nor strawberries (at least not yet), I feel like I am where I need to be.

Day 138 - It's A Colander - 28 Apr 2011

It's A Colander

My hope was that this would come out looking like a ladybug or a piece of watermellon. Or maybe the light reflecting in those water drops would make them look Spider-Man.

That would have been cool.

Instead all I got was a stupid picture of a red plastic colander. At least I learned how to spell colander.

Day 111 - No Place I'm Going To - 1 Apr 2011

No Place I'm Going To

I wanted to do a picture that had something to with April Fool's Day. Some thoughts:

- Salt spilled out of shaker with the cap loosened
- The cellophane on the toilet seat trick
- Shaving cream on hand of a sleeping person

The problem with all these is that I would have to then do the cleanup, and that is not right for my idiom. So instead you get a tambourine shot.

Fire Leaf

Day 311

fireLeaf

This leaf was from the same Japanese Maple on which the mantis was not well hidden the day before. Seasons change and leaves fall, and even in that, there is some beauty.

Red vs Blue x2

Day 309

Red v Blue x2

Election day in the USA, and with all the talk of red states vs. blue states, I figured it was a good time to revisit the red and blue bottles. Perhaps I should have made the blue bottle much, much bigger than the red one to be more accurate.

Human, Torch

Day 40

mag-lite

And so ends the Week of Red. In the on-deck circle, knocking the dirt out of its cleats is Blue. You'll find out why on Day 43.

Bottles of Fire

Day 38

bottlesOfFire

Happy (Chinese) New Year! I was going for a firecracker vibe on this one. I'll just be happy for a new week, because I have seen enough red for a while.

Thanks to Shelley for getting this bottle for me, and drinking all the wine that it contained.

Swat!

Day 36

swat

Continuing the Week O' Red for the photo-challenge and in the midst of heavy software testing and bug finding, this seemed like a good subject.

Right and Might

Day 35

CapsGlove

I had almost zero time to shoot, and the couple things I tried were not working. I needed a hero to save me, so who else would I call but Captain America? This continues the week of red for the February Challenge.
