Day 53 - Pillar of the Porch - 2 Feb 2011

Pillar of the Porch

Groundhog's Day was uneventful to the point where I was hoping to not have to relive it. There came a moment in the late afternoon however, where the color and quality of the setting sun gave the ordinary view outside my window a special something that was worth noticing. Realizing this is step 1, trying to capture it is step 2. Fifty three days into this jaunt I am getting into the habit of doing both.

Butterfly In Amber

Day 277

Butterfly In Amber

The house across the street from us blocks our view of the sunset. Luckily our neighbors are nice enough to let us come over and look at it from time to time. This time I brought my camera.

Heading West

Day 107

This is an old barn across the street from our neighborhood. Since it is falling part, it was perfect for the April Entropy challenge. I was able to time my visit so that I could shoot during the magic hour, and got this shot just as the sun was going behind the mountain.
