Holdin Down the Floor

Photo #56

The last photo odyssey ended before Kenzie joined us. Though she was with me for many of the previous (which also is the reason there are no shots of our local heron), this marks her Roth 365 debut. As dogs go, she is a great friend and companion. As subject go, however, she is terrible. Not only does her black-and-whiteness make exposure problematic, but she rarely stands still. That was why when I saw her laying still in a sunbeam, I had to shoot her.

Shadow of a Friend

Shadow of a Friend

Friends will come into and go out of your life. Best friends will never leave, even after they are gone.

Day 88 - Every Time You Go Away - 9 Mar 2011

Every TIme You Go Away

The pets do not like it when the kids go away. Each time the kids leave, the cat and the dog pause their usual routine of chasing each other, dropping anvils on each other's heads, and blowing each other up with TnT to instead watch the children walk away.

Walking the Dog

Day 329

walkingtheDog

New York rained on me during my walk back to the hotel. I did not mind because I am water-resistant, and I knew it was give me the opportunity to get some reflection shots.

inDognito

Day 321

inDognito

My dog and I are both firm believers that animals should not wear clothing. No clever costumes, no cute sweaters, and no Halloween costumes. Despite this, when I found myself with 1) a dog, 2) funny glasses, and 3) a need to take a picture, it was a perfect storm that I could not resist.

You Will Be Mine

Day 303

You Will Be Mine

She is an old dog doing an old trick, but with the reward in sight, she is more than willing. Here's to you, Charlie. It's Milkbone Time.

Dog Brown

Day 243

dogBrown

We returned to the Koi and Wine Festival at Lilypons. The best part was the Dock Dogs competition in which dogs jump off a dock for maximum possible distance. The dogs seem to enjoy it, but not half as much as their human entourage that chose to spend their weekends traveling to these competitions.

Get Off My Porch

Day 239

Get Off My Porch

For most of the work day, I share my office with this short hairy girl who tends to smell a bit funny. She sleeps a lot, but is always ready to stare down any uninvited cat who has the misfortune of visiting our porch.

Slobber Bob

Day 222

Slobber Bob

This little guy is staying at my house this week, which is more than I can say for me. As house guests go, he is not too bad. I'm sure he'll be glad when his family comes home to get him, but in the meantime he's having a little vacation of his own.

Croc Dog

Day 134

Croc Dog

Shoe Week continues, and since the real owner of these Crocs was in bed, I drafted my erstwhile friend and assistant to be a shoe model. She was none to pleased to be involved in this project, but she went along with it anyway, because that is just what she does.
